About Us

The Elk River Soccer Club is the premier recreational soccer club serving the Kanawha Valley areas of Mink Shoals, Big Chimney, Elkview, Pinch and Clendenin. The objective of Elk River Soccer is to promote and develop the sport of soccer for boys and girls of all ages in the Elk River area. Our philosophy is to provide an atmosphere of good sportsmanship within which the players and teams can compete, learn and enjoy the game of soccer.
We aim to bring out the joy that the game of soccer can provide our youth by offering our players the best quality experience in which they can fuel their passion, challenge themselves to grow, teach them to perserver and recognize their strengths in contributing to those around them. We want our players to become confident, positive contributing citizens of the Elk River community.
Recreational soccer is viewed as the important first step for kids to play the sport of soccer. It serves as the bedrock of the soccer foundation providing an enjoyable experience as well as promoting health, fitness and community.
The Elk River Soccer Club was founded over twenty five years ago when a group of parents decided to bring a “new” sport to the area. At its inception, Elk River Soccer had two playing fields and a handful of players. Now, we have 9 playing fields, over 250 registered soccer players and a newly built concession stand and picnic area along with two handicap accessible bathrooms.
As we continue to grow, we encourage each of you to become involved in our club. It does not matter if you are a veteran to soccer or new to the game. We need all the help we can get. I make a personal commitment to you, that your child will be treated with dignity and respect. They will know that they are valuable and important.
